Do you want to play?
You get out the game.
You go first.
You roll the dice, and get a three.
One Two Three
There are two stacks of cards, heartbreaker and heart taker.
You draw a heart taker card.
"Kiss them, they won't mind."
You obey the card's orders.
I'm blown away, but the card was right, I didn't mind.
It's my turn, so I pick up the dice and roll an eight.
One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight
Heart taker, "Tell them how much you really love them.
They might let you know a couple of secrets too."
I close my eyes.
I speak from the heart, not questioning the game's authority,
"There is no true explanation for why I feel this way, but I know there is something.
Your voice, your face, your words never leave my mind.
Constantly I crave, I want you.
I know that I can't always have what I want, but if you were mine, I'd realize I need you.
You're not just my heroine, you're my food, my water, and you're everything I need to survive."
I open my eyes.
You sit there with a smile on your face.
Are you really happy?
Now it's your go.
Cradling the dice in your hand you drop them.
Heart taker, "Make-out is such an odd word that I don't like to use, but is there any other way to say it?
Go ahead it's your turn remember?"
I don't refuse.
It's my turn yet again.
Snake eyes
One Two
Heart taker, "Ask them for their love, I'm positive they want you too."
"Can you read this card?" I say slowly.
He smiles and says, "I'll trade your love for mine."
I don't even have to think "Deal."
Inside my head, my throbbing head, I'm thinking, "We should play this again sometime."
Reading her thoughts he thinks, "Yeah, we can skip the last one, because I'm never trading back."
We left the game on the floor, disarranged, walking away hand-in-hand.
