New Friendship, Old BestFriends

by Joy   Mar 31, 2009

Like roses blooming in the spring and dying in winter
All good things must come to an end
That new found stranger in the hallways everyday
You'd never guess was once my best friend

A hand to hold when i fell through loneliness's trap door
Someone to read my eyes when my mouth couldn't speak
The Anti-Freeze i needed when i over heated
The monument of a life style truly Meek

We pass by one another, avoiding eye contact
its a shame how far we've grown apart
I have words in my chest that i cant say
they're out of order and i dont know where to start

I miss the only friend that filled me with joy
I'm ready to be a rose in the spring time again
and when the seasons change we'll carry though
With a new friendship, but as the same Old Best friends

Very nice poem, and i can relate to some extent. I understand that and sometimes your friends can change, and during that change sometimes they need their space to figure things out, and sometimes you will grow apart from your friends, not really mad at eachother, just not like you once where. youll still say hi in the halls, still may shoot dumb ass emails and txt messages, but for the most part you wont speak for the most part, theres even the chance that you will end up hating eachother, but all in all, a true friend will come to you in a time of need, no matter wut the deal is between you and them. I know this comment is alittle long, and im sry for that. just made me think about the olden days of school and stuff, and how much this is still true 5 yrs later.
