What Words Can Do

What Words Can Do

I've got these minor misconceptions
That things are going to be alright
Your mind games must be taking effect
I'm beginning to believe what you say

An error in my judgment set me back
Making me see past your vivid lies
If I had the strength to walk away
My days of wanting you back would fade

I never quite understood your reasons
For staying in a dying relationship
There was never any hope between us
Just an empty outlet of lustful words

When you said you loved me I was caught
Chained to every other word you threw
Without thinking twice if you meant it
I believed with all my heart it was real

Maybe I'm doomed to never find true love
And this is as best as it will ever get
What words can do to a fragile heart
Create a world without any meaning

A strong write. I found this poem to be moving and it brings up many questions as to why relationships don't work out

This was a very good poem. This is sadly true though in a lot of relationships. Loved the emotion. Austin

    A very very emotional poem
And one that I felt I could connect with
The poem was full of meaning
I'm glad that it was written n the way it was
As if the flow had been too forced
It may have taken away from the motion

    Really good poem
