A Simple Orange Tree

by Stephanie   Apr 2, 2009

Let it be,
A simple orange tree,
On the side of a grassy hill
From where it was planted fall,
Till summer morn it stands still

Let it be,
A simple orange tree,
That still remembers to this day,
The birth of a seedling into the sandy soil,
On which its life will forever lay

Let it be,
A simple orange tree,
Its growth takes its hold,
As long, tender roots reach,
And the first little leaves unfold

Let it be,
A simple orange tree,
For now it knows it's spring
Delicate, cream tinted blossoms fragrant the air
And juicy fruits of its being on which it'll always bring

Let it be,
A simple orange tree,
Branches biting the battling wind that blows
Determined to stand tall and remain its form,
Even against the winds of change that will enclose

The winds came speedy and quick,
Covering the Earth in the sounds of silence,
Faster than anyone could predict
And now my simple orange tree is gone

But the winds thou still evil,
Still bring me joy cause,
Still I smell the blossoms of my tree upon them,
Still the winds whisper in my ear,
"Let it be,
A simple orange tree"

O-M-G. I LOVE IT! I've never read anything like it and let me say, it was UNIQUE. Good read, orange trees are somehow my motivation! How'd you know I like them. D<

    LOL. 5/5!
