Sadness

The grip of sadness
Is a strong one indeed
One that is feed into
And not easily let go of

As tears
Are the
Manifestation
Of such feelings

What does it truly
Mean to be in the grip
Of such a
Powerful emotion

The symptoms
Are not invisible
They are not
Ones to be taken lightly

So what does it mean
When tears
Roll down
Your cheek

If it only meant
That sadness
Was the lack
Of happiness

It would be easy to remedy
But as it is, sadness is the lack
Of something greater then just
A laps in the joy of happiness
