A Killer's Mind

by Sylvia   Apr 4, 2009

(Wednesday, March 11, 2009; Tuesday, March 17, 2009; Monday, March 23, 2009; Sunday, March 29, 2009; Friday, April 3, 2009, Saturday, April 4, 2009 (Two). After the recent series of rampage killings, I began to wonder what the killers might be thinking and this is my version of those thoughts. This poem is not written to glorify these killers for I have nothing but contempt for them. These are arrogant people with no regard for life, who for reasons known only to them, decide killing innocent people is the way to settle their perceived grievances. My prayers are with the victims and survivors.)

Rage simmering,
ready to boil over.
How dare you
treat me like this?
See me, I am hurting.
I have feelings!

I'll show you!
Get a gun,
kill those who done me wrong.
Bullets, I need bullets,
lots of them.
Load the gun,
find them.
Pull the trigger,
scream, die, bleed.
Hurt like me.

Damn you all!
You'll never take me.
Put the gun to my temple.
Show them,
shoot
now
dead.

Friends and Neighbors:
He was such a nice person.
I could never imagine him doing a thing like this.
He must have snapped.
I never saw him get angry, always had a kind word for everyone.
He use to yell at his wife and kids.
He was strange, never said hello to anyone.
Kept to himself, a loner.

Sylvia I am taking a community and justice services program in Ontario right now and I am going to be a correctional officer and the words you have chosen perfectly portray the mind of this nature. This is a killer's mind. Someone who kills has something in them that makes them think that they have a worse life than the rest. Which is untrue, but they are a hurting soul just like you portray with this.

    "I'll show you!
    Get a gun,
kill those who done me wrong.
    Bullets, I need bullets,
    lots of them.
    Load the gun,
    find them.
    Pull the trigger,
    scream, die, bleed.
    Hurt like me."

Amazing...wow...This just made my jaw drop cause of how much truth there is behind your words. Great work on this...

    Keep it up Sylvia

Sylvia this was such a different write. I loved it, it really showed your diversity.
It was interesting to see this take on things.. you barely ever hear or see the side that the killer is on. It was written very well. I like the part at the end where you tell it from the friends and families side.. how they never saw it coming.

My friend, we will never know what cause another human being to go to the extreme and take another's life.Mankind has lost all decency and love for each other thus making it easier for Satan to move in and take control of their corrupted minds.
You did a good job on this well penned and realistic write.
    Keep up the great work.

I agree with Cy Gindle. You never know the rage and hatred one bears deep within. Honestly, I believe that no matter what the killer thinks, every life, good or bad is precious, (Yes even killers and all the 'bad guys' out in our world).

Now, I'm not saying that I think the idea of killers being hated isn't something justified. I dislike anything that causes pain to another and to a family. It's horrible and to lose the life of someone you love or care about is worse.

Anyway, like I was saying, every life on this Earth is precious. Humans, animals and plants. Even the soil beneath our feet has a life in my eyes. Treating things so horribly just makes me sick to my stomach and yet there's always a thought inside my head telling me that I have to see the good in everything, despite what I wish to believe.

Sorry for the long comment, but I think this inside look of a killer's mind is something many people would like to see. The human brain wants to be able to process things logically so that it's easier to believe. We do that with fantasy things. With movies and literature. Sometimes we think up of things to write and yet we still want it believeable. That is what I think made this poem pretty good. It's something our mind's can cope with and it gives reason (though I still don't believe anything is worth taking someone else's life)

Okay Rawr, Tangent. Sorry. xD I was just letting my mind wander. All in all. The poem was good. I Liked it quite a lot and I'd like to commend you upon it's success.

    Keep up the great work!

Strange but yet I could'nd stop reading it
I always wonder what would actually make
someone kill someone, I mean a complete
stranger makes you think you know??

then theres this killer that could be anyone
theres a rage inside alot of people that don't
even know its inside then until its too late
and victims will suffer and the rest of us will
never know this rage this killer is inside us all until its too late like road rage and a million other things that set you off. 5/5
on this piece made me think of alot of things
