Well, it is always a tie whether he sees you as a friend or something more. May be because you show that you love him, he can't clearly see what he really feels for you, because from as much as I've experienced, guys act a little cruel when they find out someone loves them you know, and then they say they love the first other girl they see on the road(If you know what I mean).
Look, don't lose hope, and it's a good thing you say you will wait for him, even though forever is a long time. I just hope he won't realize he loves you too when he'll lose you(by that I mean you falling for someone else, eventually).
