    "The element of holy water
    cauterizes scenes within salt."
    - I loved the imagery you used here, left me thinking for a while..well done.

    "as I wondered motionless beneath"
    - Did you mean "wander" ? because I can't see that "wonder" has a place here.

"from a blanket of my fear. "
    - another great metaphor, I myself wouldn't know how to come up with such imaginary, blanket and fear put together makes me feel that this is not just a normal fear.

    "which cast my Word War
    Three. "
    - I hope the word "Word" here was put intentionally, because I juts love it, instead of the other word, this makes me think of how much humanity would die to get rid of it's thoughts..if that's what you mean, I'm not sure.

Very well done Mel..I've read a lot of poems for you, but this one really grabbed my attention.
    Write on =)

"The devil on his fore arm
    symbolizes his impurity"

if its swatika... then its not a devil's sign... its actually a Holy sign of Hindus that Nazis used... and because it is related to Nazi it is seen as a Devil sign... In India this sign is placed in most of the houses as a sign for goodness... and blessing...

well written poem... loved the first stanza... the analogy and the irony...
    metaphors have been used brilliantly...

    lovely write...

Very articualte in your word choice and such a fine job doing so! I agree with what Nema pointed out. It is also interesting what Lonely Rider said because I never knew that. Excellent uses of metaphors and a very thought provoking piece.
