Elusive reality (Sedoka)

by Ingrid   Apr 7, 2009

"No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man."

Heraclitus of Ephesus (535-475BC) Greek Philosopher.

Elusive reality (Sedoka)

Ever changing world,
always renewing itself.
Certainties just illusions.

"Lovers forever",
a contradiction in terms:
only God is eternal.

Sedoka
The Sedoka is an unrhymed poem made up of two three-line katauta with the following
syllable counts: 5/7/7, 5/7/7. A Sedoka, pair of katauta as a single poem, may address the
same subject from differing perspectives.

    ""Lovers forever",
    a contradiction in terms:
only God is eternal." This is so true my dear friend, but still this term is like a booster, we need it to keep believeing that the love we shared with someone, and the love we get back in return, these feelings give strong beliefs that it will be forever. 5/5, love your words as usual, kel.

Every word a reality, every stanza beautifully and skillfully penned.I'm not familiar with these forms of writing but the meaning is important and you did an awesome job in presenting it to all.
    A most enjoyable read.
Keep up the great work my friend.

I love a good sedoka, its probably my favourite form of short poetry.
This was great.. and i love how you posted the quote from which you got your inspiration, i like seeing what helped to create a good poem.
Really nice work with this Ingrid, the whole love isnt forever thing, although its a bit of a sad wake up call to read, is quite true.
