Time Line

by Syrus   Apr 8, 2009

I was running from all I knew, [(Dec 19, 2007 4:00am) The jaws of time spoke]
After being told I'm slowly plummeting,
That this clock was broken from the start,
No matter how hard I fight, even with all my might,
The clocksmith said it wouldn't last,
That there was nothing left, [(Jan 17, 2008 11:34pm) Rotting apart from the inside]
All I could do is take care of the hands
Till they slowly came to a stand still.
Kept a secret locked beneath my chest,
Gave the key away to the open sea
Placed inside a bottle for one to find
Signed a letter telling the story of my climb. [(Feb 8, 2008 11:30pm) "Don't stop fighting, ever"
Remembering what the smith had told me,
I was declared dead at mid noon, [(March 17, 2008 1:23 pm) And so came the long pause]
And my voice was tuned out.
I sat and pondered over my lost innocence,[(July 17, 2008 2:34am) So what happens now?]
As I saw my world put on a time line.
I walked to open shores full of fear and doubt,
Watched the sunset in a way I've never seen it.
The air felt different, the ocean seemed to talk to me,
It put my ill heart at ease for that moment.
Nothing was ever going to be the same. [(Sept 12, 2008 2:47pm) I will always remember]
I closed my eyes and stood still just to see if she would stop
If I could have just one more day to enjoy this
And then it hit me like a hurricane,
You're all I know... [(March 12, 2009 5:04am) How am I supposed to win...?]
Times catching up to me now...(Present day...)
