Tell Me Why

by Beautiful Chaos   Apr 8, 2009

Never really knew
Why the wind blew
Just that I liked the sound it made
Whistling through my window pane

A warm summer day
Cold winter night
Rainy spring morning
Wind can be found anywhere and everywhere

Wondered about rain
How it decided where to fall
What to wash away
Who to cleanse

People kept saying
The rains were God's tears
Figured they had to be wrong
When it stopped raining

Stars were always fascinating
So dreamy and alluring
Like the call of love
To a tender heart

Who decided where to put them
What they would mean
Were they meant for dreamers
Tainted wishes

Tell me why
I marvel at the wind, rain and stars
But not at myself
Have I lost my wonder?

This is a wonder in itself. You write about things I often wonder myself. Well done.

Jenn, this is really beautiful the imagery was excellent. I like the way you speak about nature, and the wondering ...it gave the poem a melancholy feeling. Loved it.
