Joy ( Alouette)

by Ingrid   Apr 8, 2009

Joy ( Alouette)

We all make a choice
to follow our voice,
or turn away from our guide.
Drift into darkness,
or chose happiness.
Maybe time to turn the tide?

We all have mountains,
turn them to fountains.
For setbacks make us stronger.
Life is imperfect,
we it's architect.
Create joy and live longer!

The Alouette

The Alouette, created by Jan Turner, consists of two or more stanzas of 6 lines each, with the following set rules:

Meter: 5, 5, 7, 5, 5, 7
Rhyme Scheme: a, a, b, c, c, b

Yes, life presents us with choices the whole time, every day of our lives, and you have expressed this simply and well into a rhyming poem. I liked it!

This is such a delightful poem. It must have been difficult to avoid the rhyme detracting from the message but it flows beautifully, very well done.

Ingriddd. you always surprise me with different forms. I dont think i have seen this one before.
Your poem was filled with truth, setbacks do only make us stronger if thats how we look at it. We can learn from everything we do in life and good can come out of just about everything.
    Really nice write.

    Ingrid,

There was so much truth and wisdom portrayed in every single line, and you have such a sage mind. You are absolutely right, everything you said, how we have choices, good and bad, and how we need to make ourselves happy to live life happily and to its fullest. Excellent write, I don't think I have ever heard of this form before, but a very unique one! 5/5 from me, take care...

    Happy Easter!
