Grassy Place Far From Me

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Apr 10, 2009

Alice sat by the water searching for a reflection in the surface
She always wondered why she couldn't see herself there
Water ran in loud crashing thunders off the cliffs of jagged rocks
The bathtub full, she took off her clothes, stood up skinny and bare

Sinking inside the hot water slowly so it wouldn't burn her skin
The smell of soap and lavender filled the room with the steam
She stopped every inches, then she let more of herself in
Alice avidly hates water, she simply drowns in every dream

Laying in the bathtub watching water come up to her chest
She lit a candle and watched her feet at the end of the tub
She closed her eyes and let the scent of vanilla wax fill her nose
Letting herself soak, she let her mind go and find love

Her eyelids found a grassy field off far away from here
She didn't want to see me again, that played smiles on her face
Alice saw chirping birds and that is all she wanted to hear
She opened her eyes in the water, she lives in the grassy place
