Who Do You Think You Are? (Song)

by xToBeWithYoux   Apr 14, 2009

I don't care,
if they get all the boys,
showin' them off like they're toys.
Now, that isn't very fair.

I don't care,
if teachers give them special treatment,
there must be some kind of agreement
that they would never share...

There's just one, little thing, that I hate.
The way they look, at me, and my mate.
The glance down the nose that says:
"Get outta my way".
I'm gonna say it, right to their faces,
'cause I'm gonna put them in their places.
Struttin' around like superstars,
"Who do you think you are?".

* Side note: If anyone has ever seen Mean Girls, this is about Plastics in general, or just snobby, posh girls who think they are IT. This is a work in progress, I'm rewriting it as it was my first song/poem, I wrote it a few years ago. In my head it has a thrashy guitar tune to it, I might actually try playing some day, but for now, these are the lyrics. Ramble over :)

First off I would like to say I totally agree with you and the plastics idea. I love this song/ poem and I agree with vanilla with what she said about the first line very strong and catches the reads attention. And the ending was very good and strong. It backs up your beginning. Like you start off strong and you end strong and got the point across. Great job. If you continue ith it i can't wait to see the rest of it if you add anything...

To begin with, I LOVE the movie Mean Girls. I liked the words you used in this. I agree strongly with how it should be played. I realize it's a work in progress. I would try to come up with one of the stanzas as a chorus, and maybe put it between the two sets of lyrics?Just a suggestion, but I've only written a few songs, so you don't need to follow my advice if you don't want to.

Keep working on this. Id love to see the finished product.
