I love you, Mom

by Maddy   Apr 15, 2009

Sweet smell of peppermint lotion,
Soft, gentle fingertips,
Brush away loose strands of hair,
As I relax in your comforting presence.

Whispers my wake up call,
Stumble out to welcoming waffles,
Warm, loving embrace,
She sends me on my way to school.

From games of tag and butterfly kisses,
To rude back talk,
Quickly followed by "I'm sorry's"
Pulling each other through life's tug of war.

My mother's love is my guiding force,
She's the bread to my butter, the second pea to my pod,
I don't know how I could live without her,
I love her to the moon and back.
