Serenity

by Italian Stallion   Apr 16, 2009

Tender surroundings soft to the touch,
picturesque settings for all to view.
Submerged knee-deep in warm subtle water,
salt laced - ocean breeze amdist the face.

"Ice Cream! Drinks! While supplies last,"
the distant voice yells, while children play.
Salivating to the thought of juicy orange sorbet,
the taste so surreal, wishing it was really there.

Basking among warm merciful sentiments,
serenity is revealed for all to see.

Why aren't there more commenters on this poem? I thought this was such a powerful write and fully revealed the five senses in a beautiful scene. I did agree with Colm above about the smell, I do think maybe you could expand more on that though. Otherwise this was a fine write, keep writing, always and forever..
