Broken Covenant

by Michael D Nalley   Apr 18, 2009

Broken covenants, broken vows,
Broken wings, and holy cows.
Broken spirits, and broken hearts
Broken wheels on broken carts

Broken chariots in broken skies,
Give me a break from all the lies.
Relief at last we break our fast,
Forgiving debts from the past.

Mending the covenant of a broken cup,
Our Savior rebuilds, and fills us up.
Healing hearts, and saving souls.
Spoken word from sacred scrolls.

A broken covenant has been restored,
By the worthy and most adored.
Now the world washed by the flood,
Is cleansed by His most sacred blood.

The rhyming was well done, and it gave a good rhythm to the poem. I'm not sure why the first stanza all started the same and the others didn't? Just my questioning though
    overall good poem

That was an awesome poem. The rhyme was pretty good and it had a good flow. This poem was true though. For He has come and washed away and restored the covenant. 5/5
