Falling Forever.. Or Not [Prose]

by BlueEyedMystery   Apr 19, 2009

He came into my life like a fog sweeping over a lake. That kind on cold, shivering evenings when sane people would be curled up by the fire. Creeping and crawling, he snuck into my heart, and I just can't seem to let him go.

Why would God give me something I can't have?

So far out of reach, yet his breath tickles and thrills my insides. That's the closest anyone's ever been to that wall I've built. I wonder if he could break it down.

Probably. But who would want to do such a thing?

And he said to me.. "Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and jump. I'll be right beside you, and we can fall forever, just the two of us, falling into nothing. Will you jump with me?"

The yes was just about to jump out of my mouth, like we would have been in just a few seconds, but I bit my tongue so hard I tasted copper. I didn't jump with him that day, but I wish he would have just pushed me, because that's all I wanted to do. I just wanted to fall with him.
