Phantom of the Shore

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Apr 20, 2009

This poem was written for a contest. We had to look up the definitions of our names and write poems based off those definitions. I found as many definitions as I could and when I ran out I started putting in my appearance and stuck with the phantom and ocean theme. Hope you enjoy it!!!

---

A white wave crashes down on American soils
and amidst the sea foam forms a white phantom.
All shadows fade to nothing as darkness recoils
while all surrounding sandy shores spans calm.

Possessing such smooth porcelain skin, a fair one.
She seems almost a holy spirit, an angelic being.
Hair blazing golden yellow against the rising sun
and eyes of forest green taking in all they're seeing.

Slender pale hands touching all as if feeling's an art.
Bare feet walking over sea shells and sea weed.
There is an overwhelming kindness in her ghostly heart,
though her kindness can sometimes make her bleed.

Her lips whisper of fervent secrets only angels know.
A balmy breeze blows through her hair; eyes close.
She leaves to the foamy waves quietly saying hello.
Back into the deep blue waters of which she arose.
