Enormous wings

Bursting out of her chest at the speed of light
Her heartbeat itches to move on
To the next earthquake

Looking straight into his muddy hazel eyes
She can smell the fear
The fear both of them nurture

Light goosebumps cover the healed scars
Of his razorblade embrace
The past leaves behind not a trace

As they begin to fly together
