My Last Goodbye

by Kuro   Apr 20, 2009

One pill, to ease the pain
Two pills, if I can't sustain
Three pills, the pain is too real
Four pills, I don't want to feel

Five pills, the cowards way out
Six pills, I know without a doubt
Seven pills, it's just not fair
Eight pills, nobody that cares

Nine pills, I need relief
Ten pills, pain will not cease
Eleven pills, that cannot kill my pain
Twelve pills, it was all in vain

Thirteen pills, nothing's as it seems
Fourteen pills, like a bad dream
Fifteen pills, I'm feeling faint
Sixteen pills, will I see the saints

Seventeen pills, I begin to weep
Eighteen pills, for eternal sleep
Nineteen pills, with tears in my eyes
Twenty pills, my last goodbye

^^ Thats my fav stanza, its the perfect end to a great poem. It wraps its up very well. I liked how it was so original. Your choice of wording went well with this poem and your rhyme scheme wasnt forced. A very sad and intense write, but youve done an excellent job. Great work, 5/5.

Great emotions and dynamics in this poem. I like the way you counted his life down with the number of pills.
