You know, I can find people in all of the animals you describe, besides the people in the ending. It is a good poem, and I can tell, I've know people who act like lions-guiding everything, who are pure aligators-silently watcing their prey, and almost in every other animal.
Nice poem, you're good at given titles, and I really liked the idea.
Also, the rhyming is awesome! It doesn't seem forced at all, it seems like the rhymed words are easily getting out of your mind, which I appreciate a lot.
