I Am

by Indian Comma Bean   Apr 23, 2009

I am the predator, prowling in the darkness,
Sunlight glinting off my stone-like eyes.
I am the prey, alone, crying in the open,
Fear strikes quickly, piercing through my heart.

I am the breeze, turning leaves in the spring,
Moving freely through the trees, I am boundless.
I am the thunder, in the cover of night, I reign,
Casting my fury upon the land, fire is born.

I am alive,
In fear.
