My True Love's Eyes (English Sonnet)

by KeyxMashingxParody   Apr 24, 2009

I wonder if we could ever be one,
With your simple, adolescent, dead heart.
The one that is burning like the warm sun,
Killing my soul, ripping it far apart.
Is this real, or is this a cold nightmare,
The answer I feel I will never know.
As I pace back and forth hoping for air,
The dead silence buries me like the snow.
Indeed I will soon fall into a lie,
Wishing for love that could never be true.
I tire of watching you pass me by,
I am tired of always craving you.
Yet I know love will find it's way for me,
For your eyes are the truth, and all I see.

This poem sounds like a yearning plea straight from your heart. Its the first time I read it, even tho you wrote it 4 years ago. Maybe a hard time for you??. Move on I say... Dont dwell on the past. Read mine, see what you think, there's regret in there.. Hey, I sure u found someone new. Oh yeah.!! xx

    My Deraest 'Beth,

Your words show me your hearts journey. One that has travelled a winding and sometimes foreboding trail.
I ask myself why did she not simply turn back? Why carry on when the path ahead is so steep? Well my dear Beth, You perservered despite all of this because of faith. You believed in your hearts destiny and ths belief will see you through to your happy destination.

Weel done on this wonderful Sonnet. You have written so very well. I have written a few and have found them to be both challenging and rewarding.
