Love, Love, Love

by Melissa   Apr 24, 2009

If love were a star;
I'd wish it to
..................f
..................a
..................l
..................l
..........through me,
and I would embrace it
with the softness of petals

But love, has not a solitary form
and does not always twinkle
in the dark,
too many nights
I've known this much

how the ink of
desire
drapes its insomnia;
like a velveteen cloak,
an intimate coupling
between me
and my pen

think of all the love
I must've missed

    I really love how the imagery in this goes from the brilliance of a star as its falling to the darkness of insomnia.
    Perfection in every line! Keep it up, Holly

    It is sad to think of love we may have missed being to involved in other things and thoughts, not seeing what was there in front of us. Well done.
