Your fingers

by Jenn   Apr 24, 2009

You gazed into my eyes
and My heart began to race.
The entire world disappeared,
when your fingers brushed my face.

You leaned forward inch by inch,
grinning from ear to ear.
Our lips embraced for the first time;
It was like we were no longer here.

The stars above seemed in my reach,
The street lamps had an afterglow.
The airplanes lost their booming sound,
The moon seemed very low.

The kids around us lost their voice,
The music lost its sound.
The ground below us seems to vanish,
When you come around.

The birds then sang their song of joy,
As we floated in the air.
When you lifted your head back,
All I could do was stare.

My heart raced with adrenaline,
The skies stepped back in place.
But the entire world disappears,
When your fingers brush my face.

    This is absolutely amazing-brilliant work!
It flows great-the fingers motif is stong throughout and very effective!
I think this poem is one of the best ive read in ages, simple-but i can relate to it very well.
    an easy 5/5
