Angel of the Isle

Angel of the Isle

In the land of the Scots,
Where water is found,
There lives a heavenly creature,
Despairing, earth-bound.

She floats o'er the land,
Her head in the clouds
Showing tourists the sites
This angel who's bound.

And when the wind starts to howl,
And rain falls to the ground,
Shelter is provided
By that angel who's bound.

She cries all her tears
Without making a sound.
And no one knows what to do
For this angel who's bound.

Then the rain lets up
Though the thunder still pounds
And sunlight filters through
On this angel who's bound.

Her sorrow fills the Isle
And if you aren't careful you'll drown
You'd best tiptoe carefully
Around the angel who's bound.

Beauty is evident
In everything that surrounds
The angel of the isle
Though the angel is bound.

And sometimes they forget
And brush off her frown
While the angel is hurting
Despairing, earth bound.

Poor angel. The poem really makes you pity her. But it doesn't answer who she is - is she anyone?

Some of the rhymes with 'the angel who's bound' are a bit... mnyeh... I dunno they lack punch. It don't have to rhyme, my dear.

Also, the fact that it IS at the end of every line... it kinda... snaps it off. It's lyrical then BANG. Either make the stanzas longer or something, it's a tad harsh and choppy as it is.

Anyway it's nice, I like the theme, sad and almost haunting in a way.
