Sonnet

by NineteenMinutes   Apr 27, 2009

You wipe my tears gently,
You speak soft words of comfort in my ears,
Reassure me that every thing's fine,
Kiss my forehead,
Hold my hand,
Smile at me so brightly,
You've always been there,
You always will,
You hold me in your arms and rock me to sleep,
Sing smoothly to me,
Everything and anything,
You love me unconditionally,
So why do i feel empty while you hold me near,
Like deep down inside i wish you weren't here?

This was a wonderfully written poem. I loved it from beginning to end.

'So why do i feel empty while you hold me near,
Like deep down inside i wish you weren't here? '

It began like a simple fairytale before revealing a feeling of insecurity and your own inability to be sure of how you feel. 5/5
