What I Am

I'm nothing but a broken mirror. Shattered by words. Picked up by hugs. Put to rest in the darkness of others. Alone because I have no one. I have no one because I trust no one. I trust no one because I am no one.

I'm nothing but a mistake. But I am one that you can't take back or erase. I flow through your veins poisoning your blood. I creep through your mind, making you insane.

I'm nothing but a tear. I will drown your face in my sorrow. So no one can see how happy you are. I want you to be isolated like myself. Hold my hand as they bury us together. In the ground we will lay. Torn to nothing as no one prays.

I am what you believe I am. When really I'm nothing to you. Because I'm just a corpse. I have no essence. You can't see me. Because I was never real. Pretend is what I am.
