Beneath the stars

by NineteenMinutes   May 1, 2009

You lie,
arms spread wide like an eagle facing the sky,
and smile,

simplicity is the key, you yourself have said,
if you wish to live why wait until your dead,
laughing loudly, proudly,
why should you show shame,
not for the people around you who don't even know your name,

You're not forgotten, you're free,
only your choices,
many people live in fear of others opinion,
you've silenced all the voices,

freedom has a price you stood straight and paid,
now beneath the stars you are laid,
with no responsibilities,
no stress,
no pain,
laid in the starlight in the drizzling rain.

Your poem had many meanings and themes and your word choice was quite nice in my opinion. I felt hate in this poem not sure if its suppose to be like that but it was strong my favorite stanzas were your first and last one. Nice write
