    Grant,

    This made me cry:/

People are cruel animals....so much lower then the creatures they call by that name.
Jesus was pure and for that He had to die..because they could not bare to see how low they were compared to Him.

Are your hands clean, or as stained as mine?
What will you do, with your remaining time?

    ^^

From this I can see you are in a phase of your life where you are reflecting upon what has been and pondering upon what will be. I have been through this too, the last three years and finally the storm has quiet down.
The mid life period is a tough one, isn't it, my friend?

God bless you and yours and thank you for this beauitful verse:)

    *hugs*

This is the verse that speaks loudest to me

Are your hands clean, or as stained as mine?
What will you do, with your remaining time?
I struggle and fight with my mind each day
Will I win the fight or will I have to pay?

My hands are stained and with my remaining time, I try my hardest to do the right thing but as you say, I have to fight my mind constantly and pray that I win. Grant, this is an excellent write from you, very thought provoking. Well done.

I really don't think any of our hand is clean. I really don't think our mind is pure either. So if you a believer then believe it... we have to pay. Or we are paying actually! Problem is we keep doing same mistakes, same cruelties, though we read Bible or any other religious book from our childhood. Everyday we pray to Him with our dry prayers, for our greed. And we believe He will forgive us even we have doing sins after sins.
One Jesus Christ showed the way... but need millions of Christ to make this world better perhaps. Because we the human never follow him practically.
Good poem. Imagery is lovely. Your depiction of crucifixion is very intense. Worth reading.

I feel this far surpassed my poem. You were able to drive home the message I was trying to convey in a stronger usage of words.
    Impressive and powerful
