Our Girl

by Richard S   May 6, 2009

Mothers Day is almost here.
I hear your child give a cheer.
The message seems to me quite clear,
She loves you very much.

I've heard the stories of your tricks.
A very necessary fix,
To make the perfect family mix.
A calming mother's touch.

A guiding hand on who she be.
Confident for all to see.
More then just for you or me.
Artistically inclined.

The one of your own gender.
Her spirit can't surrender
Try so hard to not offend her.
Her compassion not confined.

You are "mother" and she loves you.
Knowing you're amongst the few.
Others seem a bit askew.
You're the one she trusts.

When cards and flowers come your way
On this special Mother's Day.
Let the child have her say.
She appreciates you fussed.
