Sweet Susan

by Michael D Nalley   May 7, 2009

Susan Boyle this is my poem for you
You have dreamed a dream that came true
You sang, and the song leaped from your throat
You put your heart and soul into every note

While your voice was such a surprise
Tears of joy came from my eyes
Now the whole world knows your name
Though you seem humble in your fame

If I could write a song just for you
It would be about a dream that came true
A lot like the song you sang divine
With heavenly joy in every line

To know exactly how it would feel
To dream a dream that became real
Seems beyond my wildest fantasy
You must have felt pure ecstasy

For some reason it made me weep
As you took your flying leap
But none of us should want to cry
Blessed dreams are not meant to die

It's an alright poem, nothing truly special in my opinion. It has just one note, and after a year nobody I think will be able to relate to this poem because I doubt anybody will remember her very well. The only other problem is i think the flow is off in the last stanza.

    Peace and prosperity,

Is the person that this poem is dedicated to in existance? Doesn't matter.

This poem was about love and music. And I far as I'm concrned nothing more. This poem that you have written will either be greatly loved, or hated.

As for me, I find myself sitting on the fence. It's hard for me to judge poems about girls that have been written by Guys.
