One's Blessing, Another's Burden

One's Blessing...

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
A task undertaken by the gods,
yet there are no words that can say
how much I treasure this blessing of mine.

A crisp air of divinity worships your trail,
pollen-carriers succumb to floral scents
which float so elegantly when you exhale.
Mother Earth turns deep green in your company.

Warmth radiates through my being,
spreading my face into a smile.
Yes, this must be a miracle I'm seeing,
but this wonder lasts for eternity.

... Another's Burden

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
A task simple enough, is it not?
One full of promise that turns to dismay.
Thunder strikes, the clouds roll in.

Raindrops slice towards the ground,
each withholding a darkest secret.
Much like our love, so I found -
Not forecast, along with the downpour.

Picnics ruined, Frisbees discarded.
Spirals of foul words spoil the moment.
Burdened with problems: feelings disregarded.
You abandoned me in the summer rain.

I like how you subtly split this poem into two parts. The first part portraying a beautiful side of your lover and then portrying a darker side on the 2nd part of the poem.I also like how you used 'thee' instead of 'you', it makes the poem different from the rest that i've read and I also love how you end it with the metaphor of summer rain.

    Excellent Job
