If there's one thing I especially love about poems, it's when I see one that has such a good ending, one that's memorable, that I actually feel my heart get excited as I finish reading it! [That sounds weird, but yeah.]

But let's go back to the beginning of the poem, shall we?:

"It's time to slaughter all the sheep."

^ I loved this line because it obviously is a reference to the old tale of counting sheep to help you sleep at night. This line portrays many things in one: 1) counting the sheep isn't working for the persona, 2) counting the sheep just doesn't work in general, and 3) the insomnia is beginning to get so unbearable the persona is beginning to feel violent.

The instability of the persona is further reiterated by the beginning of the second stanza where they talk of feeling "a little more insane" with every second.

    "24 hours seems so long,
But there is no time at all."

^ I adored these lines. 24 hours does seem long, but for an insomniac who just cannot sleep, time becomes an invisible object. Hours can float into each other and an hour can begin to feel like a day, and vice versa.

    "It's so cold I'm frozen,
With the ice that stopped my heart,
I thought I was made of stone,
But even stone can fall apart."

^ And this ending. Gahhh. I wanted to hug the persona, haha. It portrays the fact that many of us can think we're unbreakable -- made of stone and unable to crumble. Then we remember that, wait, oh yeah... stone does crumble! We're not so tough after all.

    I absolutely loved it. :)

For someone so young this poem to me seems very mature and although on a few occasions you loose the rhyme count I think the end product is great. I am adding you to my favourites to see how you grow, well done a poem I enjoyed very much.

Beautiful, I love this piece. I have insomnia and can really relate to all the emotions the night brings. I loved the flow here and the first stanze is amazing!... 5/5
