Lies

by ilikepurple222   May 10, 2009

Empty screams echo through the halls.
A house that was never truly called a home.
Phrases much darker came to mind.
The small girl sits in her room tightly squeezing her eyes shut and holding her hands over her ears to turn off the noise saying, "Make it stop!"

Years of anger and frustration build inside.
He sees her in a much different way than he had 18 years ago.
The "talking" always ended the same.
She throws out threatening words amidst the tears, while he chases after her and repeats the words, "Calm down."
But how is a person supposed to calm down when their "other half" can't even find their way?
The girl now sits in her room, closes her eyes, and hopes for a time when this will all come to an end.

Hours later, she looks to her mother and sees the bloodshot eyes.
How could she have the nerve to lie about what had happend?
The day goes on as normal.
Night comes and the girl gets ready for bed and
turns off the lights.
She closes her eyes and finally feels at ease.
Everything turns dark.

This is a very deep and emotional poem i could feel the frustration it kind of reminded me of a story like a scene from a book very descriptive i could see the scene playing out in my mind ! maybe try putting it in more abstract terms like not just straight forward that usually helps me let out the unique frustration i am feeling

    great job : ) 5/5
