I Die a Little

by Ray Smallshaw   May 10, 2009

No vanity now
as we know
each other
to well,

Yet seeing her naked
I still tremble
and I become breathless
with want,

Then when
she holds me
to her breasts
I become giddy,

Giddy,
with
my need
for her,

I now
understand the song,
every time we say
goodbye I die a Little,

As if you can die a little
from being apart
you can surely die a little
from want,

I want her to Love me
endlessly
and that want causes me
to die a little,

I die a little
when I fail her
as she deserves
better than me,

I die a little
from the
shame I feel
when I fail her.
