Twisted Tongues

by LitxUpxWithxLife   May 11, 2009

The tidal waves of death lap against my legs, chilling to the bone.
I should have known you never loved me, despite your every moan.
I walk deep into death, head held low in resignation.
Cursing my own hope and accepting this eternal damnation.

Why play the game and raise my hopes for a love that's real?
Now that the game is over, I question how much you really feel.
I'd have given you my life just if you'd love me back.
Funny, it being you who said it was the heart I lack.

Guess I just wasn't good enough to keep the love I sought.
Now regretting every promise I made, and every gift I bought.
Didn't you ever see that I'd have given it all up for you if I only could.
The lie you told never unraveled till just now, I admit honey, "You're good"
