Bleed Your Lullaby (ED)

by Good Enough   May 11, 2009

A thousand times
My heart bleeds your lullaby
Pain, such a tortuous task;
Beat me, bruise me
Your words are like arrows
Into my Achilles heel

Your words of love
Make me believe they're true
With false tense of lyrics
That sang your sullen lullaby
Wish me goodnight once more
To the tears from my heart

Your hands on my body
They make me feel disgusted
As your humming desires
Cut me open once more
Bleeding deeply inside
I still feel you inside me

Your burning whispers
I've fallen into your grasp
And I'm withering away
Your desire to keep me thin
Leaves you, my Anna
Singing melodies of torture

Don't eat
Don't eat

This is deep. Dark, but deep. Well written too. They way it's structured compliments it's dark nature. I also love how you don't get to know the antagonist until the end, it's well thought out. Good write :)

If you're a fan of rock at all, listen to Anna's Song by Silverchair - if you haven't already heard it. They're an Aussie band relatively close to where I live. You might like em :)

Great poem, a little lacking in some places but besides that very vivid in my head and the point your making gets across well. 5
