Dust

by ben thompson   May 11, 2009

Elusive luminescence seeks belonging among a cold brilliant night.
Eternity's flame created endures, majestic darkness, devoid of light.

Silent, guilty and broken final moments approach this fading misguided soul.
Deathly contagion blankets the silver moon, midnight wreaks havocs final toll.

Aftermath revealed, cruel fates infinite destiny for prognosticators to suffer grand.
Murky wonder envelops, tearful eyes caustically melt, dust blows from dire hands.

    Hello Ben,
Your mother, Cindy, told me you had an account on this site, so I couldn't resist after reading her lovely work.

This is an excellent, descriptive piece that is almost dreamy and lulling to read aloud, in a dark sort of a way! The layout works really well for this piece, too.
Well done and all the very best,
    Ben

Very thought provoking. I was going to say wow a lot of adjectives but it was a word challenge! So I will say what vivid imagery you have projected here!Nice to see you writing again!

Yeah it's really hard to make a poem within certain words. And you did a great job! Lines are fantastic!

This is a dark one. Not sure if this is about death, ashes to ashes, etc., Well done.

Congrats on the contest.....You did a wonderful job on this piece...It is hard to take a list of words and bring forth a poem from them.
    Excellent job!
