Shaking - a sense of fear never felt,
How did this happen? What went wrong?
Blood drips - the world begins to melt,
Even with self-mutilation I feel strong,
A sickening dream takes my mind,
Loyalty, duty, honor, and respect,
A new life awaits for me to find,
A soldier - one I used to neglect,
I take the spotlight for a change,
Looking at me - I felt her trying,
It was new and somehow felt strange,
Yet I'm still alone - now crying,
My time is fading - surgery is quick,
A literal broken heart threatens me,
She's not here - I'm no longer sick,
