Your smile

by Hollywood   May 13, 2009

I can't see your smile

I can't see your smile
I have been waiting for so long
waiting bedside,
Waiting to see your smile
But it's locked behind the gold door
Your face is pale
Your hands are cold
A black cloud rests above your head.

I can't see your smile
Though I patiently waited,
bedside,for the death of today
Grieving for you
I am not grieving for you
Only because I'll see you once again
In the skys above,
Just please wait for me!

Your face is pale
Your hands are cold
And I am sitting bedside
only for you to wake up
and tell me this is all a joke
But you are not waking up
I want you to wake up
Kiss me softly
Hug me so sweetly
I want most for you to say you'll never leave me.

I can't see your smile
I am not grieving

I can't see your smile
But I'll see you once again
Death is near
For myself
Death is peaceful
We all live to die
So I guess I'll see you later!!
Goodbye my love!

That last stanza seemed so joy filled. In a poem of sadness it was a contrast. Not as in a bad way, but it gave me perspective.
