Let Go

by iFallToPieces   May 14, 2009

She has been lying all along, now no one will know,
That she was never happy; her smile was just on show.
She had succeeded at pretending, and making everyone believe,
That she had finally stopped and there were no new cuts under her sleeve.

But if only they had known, that it wasnt the end.
She had other ways, all she did was pretend.
No one will know that she was falling apart.
Trying to keep herself together, while mending a broken heart.

She smiled on the outside, when she was screaming inside,
She never let anyone in, so no one could stop her suicide.
She had thought about the risk, what if she was to fail?
Everyone would then know, about her betrayal.

She felt so confused, and she didnt know what to do,
She didnt want to be here, and her heart was torn in two
But she pretended and smiled, tried her best not to cry.
Lead them all to believe, she had reasons to try.

But they will never know, that her smile had started to fade.
That she had spent each night with her blade.
That caused all these scars, deep in her skin,
But she didnt care, if you asked her why, she wouldnt know where to begin.

She couldnt care about the consequence, all she wanted was the pain,
That blade had over taken, and their trust was something she could never regain.
She felt barricaded and alone, even when people were near,
She could never start to believe, that people actually did care.

Her tears had run dry, the moment she hit the floor,
With the gun in her hand she decided she couldnt take it any more.
With the blood gushing out, No one would ever know,
That the reason behind her suicide, was the fact she couldnt let him go.

This was beautifully written. A heart wrenching symphony even. Well Done. 5/5
