I Know

by Countess of Monte Cristo   May 14, 2009

I know there comes a time.
When you want to grab that knife.
Or eat those pills.
To end your life.

And i know how it feels.
When you want to slash your arms.
And would do anything.
To cause yourself harm.

I know what it feels like.
When no one can hear you scream.
And you end up having nightmares.
Instead of those sweet dreams.

But I also know that you can make it.
And you have to live till the end.
Because all your pains and hardships.
Will one day easily mend.

You and I deserve to keep going.
Why do we feel that bad?
When wicked and cruel people
Rarely feel that sad?

But I know what it feels like.
When you want to grab that knife.
So don't you worry anymore.
Because happiness will replace our strife.

One day, the sun will shine at our faces.
And the air will flirt with our hairs.
And we'll stare at the sky.
So God would erase our tears.

I know that you can survive this.
Because I myself survived.
And I hope these feelings of being suicidal.
Will never again be revived.

This poem shows people that have been or that are suicidal that they are not alone. I've been there but I've overcome it and overcoming suicidal thoughts doe someday make us stronger but it does take time. 5/5, Em
