Today's the day (Eating Disorder)

by Miranda   May 15, 2009

Today's the day,
to change your fate.
Today's the day,
to destroy what you hate.

Today's the day,
to start anew.
Today's the day,
today is your cue.

Shun your dinner,
breakfast, and lunch.
Today you will be pure.
Thou shalt not munch.

Ignore the world.
They don't understand.
This is your destiny,
you are under my command.

Tomorrow you will wake,
and stare into the glass.
Obsess over numbers,
and the size of your ass.

Coffee and cigarettes,
is all you will consume.
Breathing in cocaine,
and all sorts of fumes.

Don't dare to question,
this is how it is,
and will always be.
Do not deny,
I am giving you your dream.

You will only think of weight.
It is all that matters.
You will despise calories,
Fearing getting fatter.

Today you will push yourself
to the absolute limit.
Working out for hours,
trying to get fit.

Today you will be hospitalized,
for drinking too much Ipecac.
The doctors will know your secret,
And say that you're not fat.

But you will argue,
and refuse to believe.
Because I am in your head, my dear.
And I refuse to leave.

Soon, you will die,
from destroying your body.
Slowly and painfully,
your heart will be rotting.

Do not blame me, darling,
it was not my decision.
I helped you reach your goal,
of absolute perfection.

Unfortunatly for you,
the only way you were to reach
"Perfection"
You must be,
lying in your coffin.

Today's the day,
for you to die.
Trying to reach an impossible goal,
and hiding your lies.

Today's the day,
for me to move on,
invade another's thoughts,
and help them along.

Rest in peace
your time is done.
Goodbye and goodnight,
I sure had fun.

Wow. this poem is absolutely amazing. such depth, tragedy and meaning.

    Tomorrow you will wake,
    and stare into the glass.
    Obsess over numbers,
and the size of your ass.

^this stanza just defined the poem for me. truly it has been beautifully written. and it is sad that we all struggle with this, and sometimes it is like someone else is controlling your life. this poem, flawless.
