Something in the End

by Curing the Comon Cliche   May 16, 2009

I thought you were different
I guess I thought wrong
You're so convinced that you're right
You'll hate me for this song

I thought you were different
Not the usual rest
You'll be stuck here forever
And you're just as content

So put on your make up
So you don't look like your parents do
Roll up another
Slide out of public school
Homework's unfair
So just won't do it
You don't care,
Come on and screw it
Light one up and chill out with your other friends
I won't be stuck here in the end

I thought that you were better
Now I'm thinking not
You fit into the perfect cliche
Of the teenage great unwashed

I thought that you were smarter
Unique in some weird way
You're so content with being nothing
And you'll get that wish some day
(you'll get that wish some day)

So put on your make up
So you don't look like your parents do
Roll up another
Slide out of public school
Homework's unfair
So just won't do it
You don't care,
Come on and screw it
Light one up and chill out with your other friends
I'm gonna be something in the end.

    I like this a lot.
I pictured the message to a mom who's a wreck or along the lines of that. 'so you dont look like your parents do'.
until the fourth stanza I think?
then I decided I liked it better your way :)
    nice work.

    You know what's sad?
when I assume it's to me until i get to the third stanza and figure it out.
sorry she's doing that. at least if it's who i assume it is.
