Jonah II

by Dacey Flame   May 16, 2009

Frail arms outstretched to
You and only you

Kidding spoon is shining silver
Laden with pills galore
Upon your flesh and muscle to
My skeleton thin skin

Held out and you try to grin for
Me, I rarely smile anymore

A backwards bridal entry
Your laughter at my thinning scalp
Light still flickering in your eyes, pupils
Dilated with affection and embullient joy

Smack hat in my palm and
Where ever did you find a sun bonnet?
But you're correct, it's necessary

Wheel me out for one more try
I can only wonder now, what
Will I remember after crossing over?
