Mistaken Identity

by schmaltziness   May 19, 2009

Each day I step out into the world,
Putting on a mask of hope and happiness.
Passers-by would envy me,
But things are really different from what they see.

When others thought you had it all,
You know deep inside there was nothing at all.
All the things you see is just a facade,
It is like no one knows me at all.

I am often mistaken for someone I'm not,
And no one ever takes the trouble to know me.
Each one thought I had it lucky.
All they know about me was just a mistaken identity.
