Stand

by Bill Turner   May 20, 2009

Stand

America faces a self appointed king
He may demand but I will not kneel
Extend the hand while followers kiss the ring
I stand proud, showing how I feel

Constitution being torn asunder
Bill of Rights just cast aside
Oh the electorate blunder
Will not break my American pride

Standing tall against winds of change
Resisting the bombardment of false hope
Business, taxes, economy rearrange
Citizens just watch TV and mope

Bow your head with me
Ask for guidance from our messiah
He shall light the way, setting us free
From this Marxist, evil pariah

Prayer is good, just not enough
Get up and take my hand
This battle is going to be tough
We shall take back America, our land

Bill, being English I am assuming you did not vote for your new President because your stand is for another party and you make it very clear you don't agree with his policies.
Yet as a total outsider to date he has taken the mess left by the previous administration by the tail and with the resources he has he seems to already be making an impact.
Afganistan, Iraq and the recession are prime examples of his policies. You may feel he is just adding fuel to the mess left but I really think he has his countries welfare at heart. Hope you do not mind my views politics being on of the three no-no topics in life.
As for your poem your messages scream from the page and are very well put to paper for its uniqueness on this site I am going to give it a 5/5 now I am aware of you I will be keeping a eye on what you write next. Ray S
