She Sits Alone

by Sara   Jun 13, 2004

In the corner she sits alone..
afraid of the dark, when he comes home..

She's always afraid..
that he'll hear her cries..
Last night he left her mom..
with two black eyes..

Tonight it's different..
so calm, so quiet..
But here he comes..
and again shes silent..

Maybe if he doesn't notice her..
or hear her voice..
He'll leave her alone..
he'll have no choice..

Normally she goes unnoticed..
and her mom takes the fall..
but tonight an act..
that will end it all..

He walks through the door..
a gun in his hand..
Why he did this..
they don't understand..

Once again in the corner..
she sits by herself..
No one to rescue her mother..
no one to help..

He walks in the kitchen..
moms at the table..
He has gone crazy..
hes very unstable..

She stands up..
he closes the door..
punches her in the face..
she falls to the floor..

She gets back up..
he aims the gun..
She starts to scream..
and tries to run..

He fires a shot..
she falls to the ground..
crawling to the corner..
she hears no sound..

The little girl finally speaks..
one word she had to cry..
She lifted her face..
with one last breath..
and told her mother "goodbye"..

"this is dedicated to my cousin Brittani, who's father would come home drunk all the time and hit her mother, I want her to know I'm here for her if she ever needs anyone to talk to .. I Love you Britt....
